The Gaijin Games/Robotube Games “Battle of the Brands” creation is now online for you to play over at robotubegames.com This crazy BIT.TRIP Beat/Bloktonik offspring has been lovingly called “Bit.Tonik”. Awww.
Just a reminder, what you’re about to play is the fruits of 18 hours of non-stop work, without any fixes, clean-ups, polish, or rethinking. We have posted exactly what we promised we would: the imperfect, buggy, not bad/not great product. Check out the write up under the game for more information of what you can expect. Do not adjust your sets…the bugs and other weirdnesses are intentionally left in….for now.
Now that we’ve given everyone what we promised we would, we’re going to start giving it a little more thought. What we did manage to create is a clever mechanic…something pretty unique and interesting. With a little more time, work, fixing, primping and maybe some light tickling, we think we might be able to create something kind of dope out of this.
And…you can expect more little surprises coming soon. A video diary, post-mortem, and other little treats will be coming your way from Gaijin Games and Robotube Games. Oh goodie!
Stay tuned to robotubegames.com and gaijingames.com for more info, and thanks to Glomag for his awesome audible contributions, and EVERYONE who supported us through this insane experiment!
Enjoy the Holidays! And in the words of Gaijin Games, “Continue rocking on. Over and out.”

A moment of rocking out caught in time.
…and the results are coming soon. Gaijin Games and Robotube are men of our words, and we absolutely promise that we will release the final version to you as-is, without any extra fixin’s or polish…just as it was when we threw in the towel at 3:00AM. The whole point for us was for this to be an experiment. To find out what two companies can do in a super-tight crunch, unprepared.

Zyrx manages to find itself on yet ANOTHER device. It’s a very sneaky little critter. I wonder if this is the first game to get ported from iPhone to Chumby…
Chumby, one of my new favorite toys, is a fantastic little device that serves up all your favorite bits of the web in a nice, stylish little box. I’ve got mine on my nightstand which, at first glance, is an alarm clock with a suspiciously nice screen…but touch it and it comes to life….there’s my Twitter, email, news, weather…and holy crap, Pandora radio!
And of course, now Zyrx!

I love me some puzzle games. In fact, I love them so much that we at Robotube are working on our own WiiWare puzzler. Bloktonik. (The plugs…have they no shame?) So, when I saw Magnetis pop up this past Monday, my curiosity got the better of me, and I could not resist checking it out.
Coming from a virtually unknown company, Yullaby, and without much fanfare or prior marketing buzz, I was a bit skeptical. I think you will find my thoughts on this one surprising.

Press Release from Gaijin Games & Robotube Games
As we all know, Blip Festival 2009 is almost upon us.
At the festival, the handsome frontman from Robotube Games is going to be collaborating with the totally sexy Gaijin boys on a little experimental Blip Festival inspired video game project. Here are the rules:
1. Try to make a game in one day while at Blip Festival 2009
2. Drink lots of coffee
3. Release the end product to the public, even if we fail miserably
You shall live the results.
And for marketing purposes, we’re calling this fantastic event the BATTLE OF THE BRANDS! Even though we’re collaborating, not battling! And even though we may not even use our existing “brands”. It just sounds so cool. And you know what? We can do whatever we want! It’s our freakin’ deal, so shut up if you feel like it!

We’ll each be updating our sties, blogs, twitters, facebookz, etc.
In the spirit of being indie, we’re flying this plane by the seat of our pants!

For our regular readers, I’m sure you saw this coming. I have a special love for the Bit.Trip series, and as been customary in the past, I pour my adoration for them out here on my blog. However, make no mistake, as much as I love the fine young cannibals over at Gaijin Games, I report my review of their games without bias. It’s not easy, but I do my best.

Hopefully you’ve seen our Antiquius Obscurius show, Bit Museum, which deals with freaky, old, weird, foreign and not-well-documented game kit from around the world. What I wanted to do today was give you, our fine readers, a peek into where our show gets brought to life in magical post-production land. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t take time out of your day to talk about post production, but this is a magical wonderland of awesome.
Run by the eclectic eccentric Scott Amore, Innerspace Soundlabs is a place like no other. Situated in a remote location in the New Haven area of Connecticut, you may at first glance think ISSL is a Ski Lodge, or some sort of cozy get-away for newly married couples. But in actuality, it’s a wonderland of technology, yet it’s oh-so-retro in atmosphere and craftsmanship. Quite literally, it is the perfect place to polish and fine-tune a show like Bit Museum. Come on inside and take a look, won’t you?

I had a lengthy conversation with a friend of mine who is a total jerk. No, he’s not really, but he was going on about how he isn’t excited much about the New Super Mario Bros. for Wii. This was probably enough for me to cut off our friendship completely, but alas, I’ve known this punk for 13 years or so; I thought it best to give him another chance. (I’m kidding, Antonio. You know I love you.)
Anyway, our conversation turned toward why he felt this way, and I was interested in hearing his negative thoughts about something I was so gleefully excited about.

(Above model built and submitted by Bill Beckett, New Haven’s original cult classic.)
Back in 2006, we created what can only be described as fly when we made our little IO the Robot papercraft toy. Recently, my Cheesepuff Pals at Gaijin Games, released to the world their own incredible Commander Video papercraft, so I was inspired to dig out our old one and make it available again.
So yeah, I’m totally being all like “me too!” all up in this piece.
So go to it, you wacky asses. Go print this sucker, build it, and revel. Post your pics on the newly launched Robotube Games Facebook Fan Page, which currently has more fans than there are air conditioners in Antarctica.

You asked for it, and now you’ve got it! Bloktonik leaderboards are online and embedded in the game as well as in their own link at Bloktonik.com.
We’ve teamed up with MochiMedia to bring you these leaderboards complete with country tracking, medals, and Day/Week/Month/All stat charting, so now you can totally represent your nation and rub your ridiculously high scores in the face of people all over this green Earth.
Aw heck, there’s even a Twitter/Facebook function to post your scores and annoy everyone you love and know personally!
Go play some Bloktonik now!
