This is the kind of stuff I dreamed would exist when I was a kid.
How sad is that?
This new coin bank by legendary Japanese toy wizards, Takara Tomy, plays a very realistic game of Space Invaders complete with sound effects and graphics, housed inside of a 1/6 scale model of the 1970’s cocktail table.
Video after the jump.
Runs on 100 Yen coins (though I hear American nickels also work), the bank will tally your coin count on screen until you hit 80, at which point you have to empty the machine. If you’re in Japan, that means the machine more than paid for itself. In America with nickels, it means you can now be the proud owner of a chicken sangwich.

We’re editing 2 new episodes right now. We hit a delay because of the “day job” game design stuff, but rest assured they’re coming soon, and we can’t thank you guys enough for your support!
